Corissa Boychuk of Airdrie, Alta., bounced and flipped to a silver medal in double mini trampoline at the World Games on Wednesday in a close battle with reigning world champion Svetlana Baladina of Russia.
Boychuk, the 2010 world champion, led the field in the qualification round but Balandina rebounded to win gold with a total score of 69.40.
Boychuk, making a comeback this year after taking 2012 off, placed second with 68.600 points and Silvia Saiote of Portugal was third at 68.20.
“I knew I was coming in with only medium difficulty after taking last year off, but thought I could be a contender,” said Boychuk. “I stuck three of four passes with only one landing outside of the box and I was really happy with my result.”
