A feast of Gymnastics entertainment will be on display in Pretoria (RSA) during
the month of December when top gymnasts from across the African continent
contest for Africa Championship titles in the various Gymnastics disciplines of
Aerobic Gymnastics; Rhythmic Gymnastics; Trampoline; Double Mini-trampoline and
Tumbling.
The South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) takes great pleasure in
hosting the 11th African Gymnastics Championships at Tukssport Indoor Sports
Centre Pretoria, from December 9 – 13, 2012. Countries participating will be
those from Algeria; Angola; Congo; Egypt; Mozambique; Namibia; South Africa;
Senegal; Tunisia; and Zimbabwe, with just under 160 participants in total to
date.
Entertaining performances by high caliber junior and senior elite level
gymnasts from across Africa will be on display. With the Africa Championships
occurring every 2nd year in rotating countries, this is a unique opportunity for
South African Gymnastics fans to watch Africa’s best gymnasts live, as well as
offer support to local gymnasts taking part.
International Gymnastics dignitaries will also be in attendance, such as
International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) President Prof. Bruno Grandi (ITA);
FIG Vice President Dr. Michel Léglise (FIG); FIG Deputy Secretary General
Nicolas Buompane; African Gymnastics Union (UAG) President Mohamed Yamani (ALG)
and UAG Secretary General Ali Zaater.
SAGF welcomes all spectators and gymnastic enthusiasts to come and watch this
Gymnastics spectacle. Entry is free for all spectator.
