How trampoline and other gymnastics sports develop motor and mental components of all sports.
Jumping on a trampoline can be so much fun for your kids. But did you know there are benefits to it, too?
Jumping on a trampoline can do wonders for the development of your child’s motor and mental skills.
At Just Bounce Trampoline, this development is encouraged and is practiced to not only develop, but improve these skills for your children.
Trampolines improve so many areas of coordination including balance, agility, rhythm and timing. In addition, though, it improves ocular motor skills.
Bouncing on a trampoline for 10 minutes is actually equivalent to a 30 minute run! In fact, many athletes will practice on a trampoline in order to enhance their motor skills including skiers, skaters, divers, gymnasts and more!

USA Gymnastics statement regarding competing in the 2013 World Games
Due to circumstances at the gymnastics venue at the 2013 World Games in Cali, Colombia, the International Gymnastics Federation informed its member federations that it found the conditions violate its rules and regulations. As a result, the FIG asked its member federations to sign a waiver (excerpts are included below) requesting a waiver of responsibility for providing a safe environment for the athletes. USA Gymnastics has declined to sign the waiver because its content is unacceptable and places an unusual burden on the athletes and member federations.
"Our athletes traveled to Colombia with the hope that the problems might be adequately resolved," said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics.

China jump to men’s Synchro Gold
With the withdrawal of Germany and USA, the men’s Synchronised Trampoline competition featured a field of nine pairs, eight of which qualified for the final. While preliminaries saw numerous pairs failing to complete their second routine, Great Britain’s Luke Strong and Nathan Bailey were left on the disappointing last rank.
Carlos Arturo Páez and Juan Carlos Valcárcel qualified to huge applause from their home crowd but the Colombian pair failed to find their rhythm in the final and finished at the bottom of the table. Russia’s Nikita Fedorenko/Dmitry Ushakov and Diogo Abreu/Tiago Lopes of Portugal, who were the only pairs to get through both preliminary routines fluently, qualified in the top two positions. And while Japan’s experienced Yasuhiro Ueyama/Takashi Sakamoto impressed with virtually perfect synchronisation in their first routine, they made mistakes in the second routine as well as in the final, and finished only fifth. China also surprised with a rare mistake during qualifications, but 2011 World Champions Dong and Tu redeemed themselves in the final, where they rediscovered their usual form and produced the most difficult routine of the day with high execution and synchronisation scores to clearly top the field. After a disappointing second routine, Denmark’s Peter Jensen and Christian Andersen outscored Portugal in the final to take the Bronze. Russia were the most consistent pair today with a fine overall performance to earn a deserved Silver.

FIG update on Trampoline competitions at The World Games
"Representatives of the Trampoline and Acrobatic Gymnastics competitions at The World Games 2013 Cali were updated on the situation at El Pueblo Coliseum here in Cali during an orientation meeting this morning.
Results of venue inspections carried out on Saturday evening and this morning still showed problems with regards to compliance with the FIG Rules.
However, the FIG, in close consultation with the International World Games Association (IWGA), decided that training and competitions could go ahead provided the air conditioning system in the warm-up, training and competition venues does not fail."

9th World Games
The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) informed its member federations participating at The World Games 2013 Cali about unacceptable conditions at the Gymnastics competition and training facilities and the considerable risk that the competitions in Trampoline, Tumbling, Acrobatic and Aerobic Gymnastics might not take place.
In the case of Trampoline, Tumbling, Acrobatic and Aerobic Gymnastics the FIG as well as the IWGA can and will not allow any compromise. This was confirmed in writing by the IWGA, signed by their CEO and the President of their Medical Commission. Cali Local Organising Committee (CLOC) was informed accordingly. Aerobic Gymnastics is a very intensive discipline and Trampoline, Tumbling and Acrobatic Gymnastics are disciplines which bear the risk of serious accidents. FIG and IWGA agreed not to allow trainings and competitions in these disciplines to start should the gymnasts be at risk. This includes that the temperature in the venues may not exceed 24 degrees as per the Technical Regulations of the FIG.

James Higgins Retires
NTGA are proud to congratulate our longest serving member, James Higgins, on his retirement from competitive trampolining after an incredible career at the top of the sport.
James, whose mother Anne founded the club 36 years ago, started at NTGA almost as soon as he could walk and shone from the moment he first stepped on a trampoline.
He went on to dominate junior events in Great Britain on his way to becoming junior World Champion in 1996, and after a brief hiatus from the sport, took his considerable talent in to the senior ranks where his constant drive saw him reach the very top.

Vuly donate to Autism QLD
This morning started off bright and early with an exciting road trip to deliver and install an 8ft Vuly Classic to the wonderful kids at Autism QLD Brighton!
We’d heard such great feedback about our trampolines from one of the parents at Autism QLD who had bought a trampoline for her son and wanted to find out more! As we’ve written about previously, trampolines are such a great source of therapy for autistic children. Ethan’s speech, coordination, balance, sensory processing and eye contact have all been further developed and aided through trampoline therapy. Most of all, Ethan’s social skills have been the most improved as he’s grown in confidence on the trampoline and getting into it with other kids! Another plus is that our massive weight ratings also allow for teachers or parents and kids to interact and jump safely at the same time.

British champion looks ahead to World Games
City of Liverpool’s Nicole Short claimed her first senior DMT title at the 2013 trampoline, tumbling and DMT British Championships. Having only been training in the sport for just over a year Nicole, who also competes in trampoline, is now all set to represent Great Britain at the World Games in Cali, Colombia.
The selection honour is a fantastic achievement and testament to her endeavour and hard work as Nicole explains:
“I felt shocked when I first heard I was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Games, especially as I’ve only been training seriously in DMT for 12 Months. There are several other gymnasts who have many more years of experience than me both training and competing but I rose to the challenge and have had a pretty decent season."

Tolle Platzierungen in Portugal

British Gymnastics appoint lead trampoline coaches
At the start of the Rio cycle, British Gymnastics undertook some changes in the coaching support provided to the trampoline members of its High Performance National Squad Programme. Prior to Christmas we were pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Craig Lowther as the new Head National Coach.

Initial phase of trampoline development program achieves success
Mills Gymnastics USA in Southgate, Mich., and the Wendy Hilliard Foundation in New York City, have successfully completed the training program and earned the Trampoline Development Center designation. Both clubs participated in the launch of the USA Gymnastics program designed to develop trampoline and tumbling in the United States. As part of the program, each club hosted training sessions for coaches, athletes and officials; selected a club trampoline team; and staged a local trampoline competition at the gyms. Two more clubs will go through the development program this year, and the deadline for clubs to apply for the second phase is July 1, 2013.
"The success at both Mills Gymnastics and the Hilliard Foundation exceeded our expectations," said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. "Both clubs embraced the development program and have established trampoline as an opportunity for athletes. Also, other clubs in both of those areas attended the training sessions and have expressed their intent to establish trampoline programs. We could not be more pleased with the progress of this initiative to grow trampoline and expand its Olympic pipeline."
