Gymnastics Canada has appointed Richard Crépin of Montreal as its new chairman,
Dean Giesbrecht of Calgary as vice chairman and Tony Smith of Calgary as the
director of the national men’s artistic gymnastics team.
Gymnastics Canada, the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics,
recently launched a new strategy designed to build on the success of the last
four Olympics Games and to solidify its identity as one of three foundation
sports fundamental for participation in all other sports.
All the Olympic disciplines of the sport, artistic, rhythmic and trampoline
gymnastics are overseen by Gymnastics Canada. Crépin, a longtime board member with Gymnastics Quebec, replaces Allister
Paterson, who has relocated to Europe to take up his new duties as a vice
president with Finnair.
